Fittings
Quick-connect wands without the wrong thread.
Tips are almost always 1/4″ QC. The gun is often M22. Those are not the same hole. Measure once, order once, stop leaking all Saturday.
The three fittings you will actually meet
M22-14 / 15
Metric thread on a lot of electric guns (Greenworks, Sun Joe, and cousins). 14 mm vs 15 mm is a real split.
M22 on gas guns
Short hose from pump to gun, then a wand that should already be QC at the business end.
How to tell what you have
- Look at the tip end of the wand. A spring collar that clicks onto a plug is 1/4″ QC. You are done.
- If the tip screws on with threads, measure the thread diameter. ~22 mm across is M22.
- M22-14 vs M22-15: the inside sealing seat differs. “M22 adapter kit” bundles exist because of this.
- Never force brass onto the wrong pitch. Cross-threading a gun is a $80 Saturday.
Wand length and rating
20-inch wands are nimble for cars and furniture. 36-inch wands keep overspray off your shins on driveways. The wand and gun must be rated at or above your machine’s PSI. Stainless lasts; aluminum is fine if you do not lever it like a pry bar.
Keep spare O-rings. QC leaks are almost always a dry or nicked ring, not a doomed coupler.
A sane adapter kit
- M22 (14 and 15) to 1/4″ QC female — so any color tip fits an electric gun.
- Two extra 1/4″ QC couplers and plugs.
- A short whip hose if your stock gun-to-wand joint weeps.
