Fittings
Quick-connect wands without the wrong thread.
Tips are almost always 1/4″ QC. The gun is often M22. Those are not the same hole. Measure once, order once, stop leaking all Saturday.
The fittings you will actually meet
Ignore the marketing names on the box. There are four faces that show up in a garage, and mixing them is how you buy three adapters.

How to tell what you have
- Look at the tip end of the wand. A spring collar that clicks onto a plug is 1/4″ QC. You are done at that end.
- If the tip screws on with threads, measure the thread diameter. ~22 mm across is M22.
- M22-14 vs M22-15: the inside sealing seat differs. “M22 adapter kit” bundles exist because of this.
- Never force brass onto the wrong pitch. Cross-threading a gun is a $80 Saturday.
14 vs 15 without a caliper: if a “universal M22” adapter seats and still weeps at the
face, you have the other seat. Swap the included 14/15 puck before you buy a second gun.
Electric vs gas — a short map
- Electric compact: threaded gun is the usual trap. Budget an M22 (14 and 15) to 1/4″ QC kit before you buy color tips or a cannon.
- Homeowner gas: wand tip is often already QC. Confirm PSI rating on any replacement wand — it must meet or beat the stamped pump number.
- Surface cleaner: most 15–16″ decks want 1/4″ QC in. Wrong coupler, no spin. See the deck matrix.
Wand length and rating
Length is reach and fatigue, not cleaning power. The wand and gun must be rated at or above your machine’s PSI. Stainless lasts; aluminum is fine if you do not lever it like a pry bar.

Keep spare O-rings. QC leaks are almost always a dry or nicked ring, not a doomed coupler.
A sane adapter kit
- M22 (14 and 15) to 1/4″ QC female — so any color tip fits an electric gun.
- Two extra 1/4″ QC couplers and plugs.
- A short whip hose if your stock gun-to-wand joint weeps.
